I lived in Arizona for a couple years and loved the desert landscape. The entire southwest is beautiful, diverse country. While I was painting this, I came across the origin of the word desert. It comes from the Hebrew word, "dahbaar", which means to speak, so I titled this "The Desert Speaks". I think all of nature speaks to us when we get quiet and listen.
