Warm, Summer Nights is part of a series of paintings exploring the feelings evoked by bodies of water. Through color, I want to express the positive influence natural elements can have.
My love of Minnesota summers and especially the warm summer nights inspired this work. I've lived in places where the nights aren't warm, even in the summer, so I love being back in Minnesota when it's warm. Spending time with friends and family outside on a warm night by the lake makes me happy. I hope this painting does the same for you.
